The deputy expressed his opinion regarding rumors on social media
Eldar Sulaymanov, a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, made an official statement on his Instagram page, commenting on information that is actively being discussed on social media. He clarified that this situation is personal in nature and is related to a long-standing family conflict.
Sulaymanov noted that the accusations that have emerged in the public sphere are one-sided and require a legal assessment. At the same time, he emphasized that he does not wish to discuss the other side of the conflict and urged the public not to make hasty conclusions without a full understanding of all the circumstances of the case.
“At the moment, there is no legal court decision confirming my guilt,” his statement reads.
The deputy also added that he is ready for an objective and fair consideration of the situation and called on media representatives and the public to refrain from premature conclusions until a final decision is made by the competent authorities.
Meanwhile, his ex-wife Asel Azamatova previously posted on social media, claiming violence from Sulaymanov and inaction from the police in response to her appeals. Today, Azamatova was invited to the main department of internal affairs in Bishkek to clarify which department she had approached and which officers did not take action on her complaint. On the same day, she filed an official complaint against her ex-husband.
Sultan Makilov, head of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, told Vesti.kg that Eldar Sulaymanov has parliamentary immunity. In this regard, the investigative authorities must gather the necessary materials and send them to the prosecutor's office, which must then apply to the Jogorku Kenesh for permission to hold the deputy accountable.
