In her social media post, she noted that she could no longer remain in the shadows and tolerate impunity. Their marriage was registered in 2016, and at that time Eldar already had a son from a previous marriage.
“Initially, everything in our life went relatively smoothly, although conflicts sometimes arose. However, after two years, infidelity and physical abuse began, as he beat me for not being able to accept his unfaithfulness. I forgave him out of fear of being left alone with two children. I felt sorry for the kids, and I didn't want to deprive them of their father. At one point, he tried to behave like a model family man, but this didn’t last long,” she recounted.
“At the beginning of 2022, I found out I was pregnant. I was happy, and he seemed to be too. However, the real nightmare began when Eldar became a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh. At that moment, by his own words, he became a ‘dog that broke free from its chain,’ began to abuse alcohol, and raised his hand against me,” Asel added.“He explained his behavior by saying he was intoxicated by power,” the woman noted.
“I was hospitalized, filed a report, underwent a forensic examination, and received the ‘Istanbul Protocol,’ but it led to no consequences. Law enforcement agencies never contacted me to check if I was alive. A few months later, I forgave Eldar again, as I was completely dependent on him. His drunkenness, infidelity, and violence did not stop. Eventually, I decided to divorce, having three children, the youngest of whom was only three months old. The violence became unbearable,” Azamatova shared.
She also added that the deputy took away her car, which was necessary for transporting the children, and stopped their financial support.
“I was looking for part-time work, leaving the children, including the infant, for a short time. On July 28, 2023, he came without warning and tried to take the older children while we were still living in his house. I refused to give them up because I was afraid he wouldn’t return them, and for that, I was hit and fell to the floor. Resisting was pointless, as he weighs about 100 kg, while I weigh only 50-52 kg. In anger, I ran outside and broke the glass in his car. He called the police, and they tried to detain me and my five-month-old baby for three days for property damage. Then there were several hearings in the Lenin Court, where I was convicted. It’s absurd that when a pregnant woman is beaten to near death, no one reacts, but if you damage the property of a high-ranking official, you immediately end up in court,” she shared.
Response from the Deputy
Eldar Sulaymanov did not answer the phone call from a Kaktus.media correspondent, stating that he would provide an official statement. In his comment, he indicated that this is a long-standing personal conflict.“The statements that appear in the public space are one-sided and require legal assessment. Currently, there is no court ruling confirming my guilt. According to the principle of presumption of innocence, all accusations should be considered within the framework of the law,” his statement said.
The deputy added that he is ready for an objective investigation and urged the public and media not to make premature conclusions until the competent authorities reach a decision.
