Asel Azamatova invited to a meeting at the Main Internal Affairs Department of Bishkek
Sultan Makilov, head of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, informed Vesti.kg about the beginning of an investigation regarding Asel Azamatova's appeal, in which she previously accused the deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, Eldar Sulaymanov, of domestic violence and pointed out the inaction of law enforcement agencies.
Makilov noted that Azamatova was invited to the Main Internal Affairs Department of Bishkek to clarify the details of her appeal — to whom and when she submitted her complaint. Based on this, a service investigation will begin.
According to him, if the accusations are confirmed, due to parliamentary immunity, he cannot be held accountable directly. The investigator will be obliged to open a criminal case and send the materials to the prosecutor's office. Then the prosecutor's office must apply to the Jogorku Kenesh for permission for further actions regarding the deputy.
It is worth reminding that earlier Asel Azamatova shared information on social media about regular beatings by Eldar Sulaymanov and that law enforcement agencies did not respond to her appeals.
