At the meeting of the committee on international affairs, defense, security, and migration, the First Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Zhanibek Kerimaliev, reported the allocation of more than 30 million dollars for Kyrgyzstan. These funds will be provided under the "Phase 1" project of the "One Health" program aimed at preventing pandemics and strengthening food security and ecosystems in Central Asia. The financing agreement was signed on July 11, 2025, in Bishkek between Kyrgyzstan and the International Development Association/International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

According to Kerimaliev, the implementation of this project includes a loan of 30 million dollars and a grant of 1.79 million dollars.

“This is an ambitious initiative aimed at improving the health of both people and animals, as well as protecting the environment. The first phase includes three key components that will help create and strengthen the basic capabilities of the system under normal conditions, as well as provide support for critical functions in emergencies, which is an important aspect of the regional "One Health" program concept. We emphasize the importance of a comprehensive approach to addressing global health issues,” he added.

The main priorities of the project include combating zoonotic infections, preventing antimicrobial resistance, and ensuring food safety,” noted Zhanibek Kerimaliev.
