A deputy called for more attention to the psychological state of migrant children and to intensify work with them
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Aida Salyamova, a deputy, raised an important issue regarding the safety and legal protection of children. She reported that in 2025, there were 18 cases of suicide among minors in the Jalal-Abad region, which is two cases more than the previous year.
One of the most alarming cases was the incident on January 10, 2026, when an 8th-grade student from the Bazar-Korgon district took his own life. The child was the son of migrants who are abroad.
Salyamova emphasized the importance of enhanced monitoring by state institutions interacting with children, as well as the need to analyze the situation of migrant children to identify potential psychological and social risks and provide timely assistance.
