In Bishkek, a record 92 km of roads were built last year – mayor

In 2022, 92 kilometers of new roads were built in Bishkek. This was reported by the mayor of the capital, Aibek Junushaliev, in a podcast by the agency "Kabar." According to him, this figure has become a record for the city. Previously, the maximum volumes of road construction in Bishkek ranged from 18 to 25 km per year until 2023.

“It is worth noting that road construction work was not carried out throughout the year, but only during the warm season. The main construction processes took place from May to the end of October, including warm days in November,” the mayor clarified.

In addition, Aibek Junushaliev reported that after the administrative-territorial reform (ATR), the total length of Bishkek's road network is about 2800 km, of which 1400 to 1800 km are in need of repair.

“By 2026, the construction of 120 km of roads is planned,” added the mayor of the capital.
