Aibek Junushaliev: We Plan to Abandon Heating from the CHP
The mayor shared ideas on the decentralization of the heating system
At an off-site meeting of the deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh, the mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, expressed the intention to reduce dependence on the CHPP for heating.
According to him, "we are moving towards the decentralization of the CHPP heating system. The city hall has selected 8 locations in the city for the installation of new boilers. If the experiment proves successful, in the future we will be able to disconnect the CHPP from heating, which will free us from the need to modernize the underground heating networks."
It should be noted that the CHPP in Bishkek is an important part of the energy system, serving not only the capital but also neighboring countries in Central Asia. This facility began operations in 1961.
Additionally, on August 29, 2024, the Bishkek City Council approved the transfer of the property complexes of the Bishkek CHPP and "Bishkekteploseti" to the management of the city hall during an extraordinary session.
