In Kyrgyzstan, there will be no announcement regarding the legalization of vehicles with foreign license plates.

The Ministry of Economy notes that vehicles with foreign registration numbers were previously imported into the territory of Kyrgyzstan through so-called gray schemes without undergoing customs declaration procedures and without paying customs duties in accordance with the requirements of the legislation of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of customs regulation.

At the same time, the Ministry of Economy points out that for vehicles imported through gray schemes, the specified payments were not made. Moreover, in some cases, there were demands for their registration at reduced rates.

"In this regard, a legitimate question arises about equality and fairness: why do citizens who strictly adhere to the law incur established expenses, while those who violate the import procedure seek to avoid them?" - the agency states.

During the campaign, the main goals were achieved:

• more than 30,000 vehicles were legalized;
• illegal import of vehicles was stopped;
• the gray market for their sale was eliminated;
• transparency of circulation and safety of operation were ensured.

At the same time, vehicles registered in EAEU countries (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia) can be deregistered in the country of registration and registered with the registration authorities of Kyrgyzstan in the established manner. The registration of vehicles with right-hand drive in Kyrgyzstan is prohibited, the agency reminded.
