A residential building is being constructed in the city of Osh for graduates of the family orphanages "Lotus" and "Altyn Uya."
According to the local administration, the apartments will be provided to the graduates of these institutions free of charge for a period of 10 years. Each apartment will have an area of 25 square meters and will be equipped with everything necessary for comfortable living.
According to the mayor of Osh, Jenishbek Toktorbaev, the initial plan was to build this house for homeless citizens. However, after the renovation of the old neurological dispensary building on Atabaeva Street, needy people were temporarily accommodated there. "From 2006 to 2025, 20 children have graduated from the family orphanages in the city of Osh. Of these, 15 live in Osh, one in Bishkek, and four in Russia. All 15 graduates living in Osh do not have permanent housing, which led to the decision to take special measures. The state should become both a father and a mother for them," the mayor noted.
The new building is planned to have 26 one-bedroom and 28 two-bedroom apartments. Two graduates who have already started their families will be offered two-bedroom apartments, while the others will receive one-bedroom apartments. In addition, the mayor's office will assist in organizing weddings for those graduates who decide to start families in these apartments.
The construction is being financed from the local budget, and the work is expected to be completed by March 25.
In 2025, it is planned to graduate 15 children from the orphanages "Lotus" and "Altyn Uya." In the following year, 2026, another 9 children are expected to graduate, of which 5 are from "Lotus" and 4 from "Altyn Uya."
Representatives of the local administration have already familiarized themselves with the current pace of construction work.
