The death of a Kyrgyz woman in Malta. The issue of repatriation of the body is being addressed.
It has been reported that after receiving confirmation from the Maltese authorities about the death of the citizen, the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Italy began cooperating with local authorities to organize the return of the body to the homeland. Assistance from compatriots will also be provided in this process.
“Currently, the diplomatic representation is actively addressing issues related to repatriation. It provides full consular support and maintains communication with the families of the deceased,” the press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states.
Earlier, information emerged that a 48-year-old Kyrgyz woman tragically died on Sunday around 12:40 PM in St. George's Bay. Together with a 23-year-old compatriot, she found herself in a dangerous situation while swimming. Both women were rescued and received first aid, after which medical personnel and civil protection officers arrived and took them to the hospital. However, despite the efforts of the doctors, the life of the 48-year-old woman could not be saved. The condition of the 23-year-old victim is currently stable.
