The Bishkek City Police Department reminds foreigners of the need to carry documents with them
As part of the operation "Illegal," control is being conducted to ensure compliance with migration legislation
According to a statement from the press service of the Bishkek City Police Department, law enforcement officers in the capital are carrying out activities to inform and check foreign citizens as part of the preventive operation "Illegal." These actions are aimed at ensuring compliance with the migration legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The police department emphasizes that foreigners are required to always carry original documents that confirm their identity and legal stay in the country. Such documents include a passport or another identity document, a valid visa for work or study (in the case of a visa regime), as well as confirmation of registration at their place of stay.
The absence of these documents may lead to the detention of foreign citizens by law enforcement agencies to establish their identity and clarify the circumstances of their stay.
During the raids, more than 35 foreign citizens were taken to the Bishkek City Police Department for verification and further actions in accordance with the law.
The press service also noted that employers and representatives of educational institutions do not have the right to confiscate or keep the passports and other personal documents of foreign citizens.
