The Bishkek City Police Department reminded foreigners of the obligation to carry documents.
The agency reminded that foreigners are required to carry original documents confirming their identity and the legality of their stay in the country. This includes a passport or another identification document, a valid work or study visa (in the case of visa entry), as well as a document confirming registration at their place of residence.
The absence of necessary documents may lead to the foreigner being taken to law enforcement agencies for identity verification and clarification of the reasons for their stay. As a result of the raids, 35 foreign citizens were taken to the Bishkek City Police for verification and appropriate measures in accordance with the law.
The police department also emphasized that employers, educational institutions, and inviting persons do not have the right to seize or keep the passports and other personal documents of foreign citizens.
The agency urged both foreign citizens and the hosting side to strictly adhere to the migration requirements of the Kyrgyz Republic.
