The Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan, Damir Osmonov, reported at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh that state funding for the treatment of kidney diseases is provided to patients with renal failure.
As Osmonov noted, this decision was made in 2021 at the initiative of the president and the parliament of the country.
“In 2025, 3.5 billion soms will be allocated from the state budget for hemodialysis. In accordance with the president's directive, organ transplant programs are actively being developed in the country. Kidney transplant surgeries are performed at the Kyrgyz-Turkish hospital and Osh State University. A total of 82 kidney transplants have been carried out in Kyrgyzstan, of which 40 were funded by the state. Specifically, in 2024, 21 surgeries were performed for free, in 2025 — 16, and to date in 2026 — 3 surgeries,” the minister added.
