On February 24, Deputy Minister of Health Bakytbek Kadyraliev announced at a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on labor, health, women's affairs, and social issues the intention to develop a liver transplantation program based at the National Surgical Center named after M.M. Mamakeyev and the National Center for Maternal and Child Health.

He noted that one liver transplantation operation had already been performed at the Osh State University clinic.

The first patient awaiting a liver transplant will be operated on in March at the National Surgical Center named after M.M. Mamakeyev.

In addition, Kadyraliev added that the Ministry of Health has sent doctors for training in India.
