He noted that all necessary preoperative preparations have been completed at the National Surgical Center named after Mambet Mamakeev, and the equipment is ready for use. The operation will be carried out with the participation of Russian specialists.
In response to questions from deputies, Kadyraliev stated that there is currently no precise data on the number of patients in need of a transplant.
“We currently do not have a clear patient registry, but we are starting work on creating a unified database for liver and kidney transplants,” he clarified.
The deputy minister also emphasized that patients with hepatitis B and C may become candidates for the operation in the future. Last year, there were 75 registered cases of hepatitis B, 56 cases of hepatitis C, and 9 cases of hepatitis D, according to official data.
According to statistics as of January 1, 2026, 578 citizens of Kyrgyzstan have already undergone liver transplant surgery.
Liver transplantation is a complex high-tech intervention in which the affected organ is replaced with a donor liver (either fully or partially). This procedure is necessary in cases of cirrhosis, acute liver failure, certain forms of cancer, and congenital diseases.
The duration of the operation averages between 6 to 12 hours and requires the involvement of an experienced team of surgeons.
In leading medical centers, the survival rate of patients after transplantation reaches 85-90% within the first year.
