Starting from January 1, 2026, the State Enterprise "Kyrgyzpharmacia" will begin centralized procurement of medications and medical devices, following the list approved by the Ministry of Health.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Health, this year part of the procurement will be carried out through mechanisms of the UN structure. It is expected that about 30 types of medications and medical devices will be purchased directly from manufacturers. This innovation aims to eliminate intermediaries, ensure compliance of products with international quality standards, including WHO prequalification, as well as create competitive conditions for prices through participation in global procurement mechanisms.
Currently, work is underway to prepare for the signing of contracts. Preliminary estimates suggest that the implementation of this model will save about 410 million soms compared to last year.
The procurement strategy for 2026 is aimed at reducing prices for medications, ensuring their quality and supply stability, as well as increasing the efficiency of public spending.
