The deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh approved the ratification of amendments to the "Marrakesh Agreement Establishing the World Trade Organization" regarding subsidies in fisheries. This agreement was adopted at the Twelfth Session of the WTO Ministerial Conference, which took place on June 17, 2022, in Geneva.
The WTO protocol on fisheries subsidies aims to reduce harmful subsidies that contribute to overfishing and depletion of marine resources, as well as to support the sustainable development of fisheries on the international stage.
