Starting April 1, there will be a significant increase in salaries for medical workers in Kyrgyzstan — by 100 percent. This was announced by Askhat Alagozov, the press secretary of the president, through his social media accounts.

Alagozov noted that President Sadyr Japarov had previously emphasized the importance of state support for doctors and the necessity of increasing their incomes.

“Currently, consistent work is being carried out in this direction: steps are being taken to address the shortage of medical personnel and to reduce the burden on healthcare institutions. The head of state highly appreciates the contribution of doctors to the health care of citizens and instructed that medical workers be given priority in obtaining housing through subsidized mortgage conditions via the State Mortgage Company,” he added.
According to the press secretary, young specialists who have recently graduated from medical universities and started their careers currently earn 13,581 soms, and starting in April, their salary will increase to 35,248 soms.
“This example illustrates the increase in the minimum wage. For experienced doctors, the salary will be even higher. Additional payments, such as seniority bonuses, will remain. Furthermore, for those who agree to work in remote and mountainous areas, salaries will increase on average by an additional 30 percent. As part of the ‘Doctor's Deposit’ program, the state will also pay medical workers 66,000 soms once a quarter. Young doctors who choose in-demand specialties (pediatrician, neonatologist, anesthesiologist, resuscitator, general practitioner) will receive an additional 20,000 soms each month,” Alagozov specified.

He also added that nurses' salaries will rise from 8,541 to 29,053 soms, which is almost a threefold increase (not including additional payments and bonuses for working in difficult conditions).

“There is a shortage of doctors of various specialties in the country's medical institutions. Currently, there are 1,596 vacancies open. If you have recently graduated from a medical university and are looking for a job, or if you previously worked in the medical field but left for some reason and want to return, please contact the nearest hospital. They will provide you with all the necessary information about current vacancies,” he concluded.
