Zheenbek Kulubaev met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Jeenbek Kulubaev, held a high-level meeting with UN Secretary-General António Guterres on February 23, 2026, as part of the disarmament conference. This information was disseminated by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the meeting, current issues and directions for further cooperation were discussed.
The parties confirmed the importance of the UN's role in ensuring peace and responding to global challenges, and expressed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue. Special attention was given to the "UN-80" initiative aimed at increasing the effectiveness and modernization of the organization. Support for the ongoing reforms and readiness to cooperate in their implementation were also emphasized. Active interaction of the Kyrgyz side with UN agencies in Kyrgyzstan was also a topic of discussion.
In addition, the Kyrgyz Republic informed about the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit and the VI World Nomad Games scheduled for 2026, as well as the preparation for the "Bishkek+25" summit, which will take place in 2027. In this regard, Jeenbek Kulubaev invited the Secretary-General to visit Kyrgyzstan to participate in these events.
