
Yesterday, during his participation in the Conference on Disarmament held in Switzerland, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Jeenbek Kulubaev, met with the UN Secretary-General António Guterres. During the meeting, the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation were discussed.
The parties agreed on the importance of the UN's role in strengthening peace and responding to global challenges.
The Kyrgyz delegation emphasized its readiness for further productive interaction.
Particular attention was given by the diplomats to the "UN-80" initiative, aimed at improving the efficiency and modernization of the organization.
Jeenbek Kulubaev confirmed support for the ongoing reforms and readiness for joint work on their implementation.
The participants of the meeting noted the active cooperation of Kyrgyzstan with various UN system agencies operating in the republic.
The minister also spoke about the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, which will take place in Kyrgyzstan in 2026, as well as the VI World Nomad Games.
Kulubaev mentioned the preparation for the "Bishkek+25" Summit, scheduled for 2027, and invited António Guterres to visit Kyrgyzstan to participate in these significant events.
