Zheenbek Kulubaev and the head of the Swiss FDI discussed issues of trade, investment, and tourism

On February 23, 2026, a meeting took place in Geneva between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Jeenbek Kulubaev, and Ignazio Cassis, the head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland. This meeting was held within the framework of the high-level 61st session of the UN Human Rights Council, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The agenda included important aspects of Kyrgyz-Swiss cooperation, including political and economic issues, as well as the implementation of the cooperation program for 2026–2029. The discussion also touched upon interaction in international organizations.

Jeenbek Kulubaev congratulated the Swiss side on the country's presidency in the OSCE in 2026 and emphasized the readiness for active cooperation within this organization. Both sides noted positive progress in bilateral relations and highlighted the need to enhance high-level contacts. Special attention was given to issues of expanding trade and economic ties, attracting investments, and cooperation in tourism, as well as the implementation of joint initiatives.

In addition, the participants of the meeting exchanged views on sustainable development in mountainous regions and the current international agenda.

As a result of the negotiations, the parties confirmed their interest in further strengthening the partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Switzerland, as well as in developing a constructive dialogue.
