Janar Akayev was born on December 13, 1986, in the village of Kabylaan-Kol, located in the Alai district of the Osh region.
In 2011, he graduated from Osh State University with a degree in journalism.
From 2008 to 2014, Akayev worked at the Kyrgyz service of Radio Azattyk. In 2015, he was appointed press secretary to the president.
On October 4, 2015, he was elected as a deputy of the VI convocation of parliament from the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan.
In 2021, he was re-elected as a deputy, this time of the VII convocation, from the Alliance party.
Additionally, Akayev confirmed his seat in parliament in the elections held on October 30, 2025.
