Felix Kulov, former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, expressed his opinion on the recent personnel decisions made by President Sadyr Japarov, noting their importance for strengthening statehood and protecting constitutional order.

In his address, Kulov emphasized that the dismissal of Kamchybek Tashiev from his position, as well as the detention and dismissal of several employees from law enforcement agencies, demonstrate the priority of the law and state interests over personal connections.

According to the former Prime Minister, the current events are evidence of the beginning of a cleansing of the system. He highlighted that after the arrests, there has been an active public discussion about possible abuses within the national security agencies, which had previously been a taboo subject.

Kulov also noted the need for a political and legal assessment of what has occurred. In this regard, he proposed the creation of a special commission to analyze the causes of violations and develop recommendations to prevent them in the future.

He emphasized that this commission should operate in an open manner and include lawyers, experts from the academic field, representatives of civil society, and human rights defenders.

Additionally, the former Prime Minister believes it is important to create a separate commission to improve the system of public administration. He pointed out that the country needs to transition from crisis management to a phase of institutional development, which implies expanding local powers and increasing the efficiency of government agencies.

Kulov concluded that the President's decisions are a step towards the rehabilitation of the system and a transition to a more mature model of governance.
