The GKNB commented on the detentions and checks of employees removed from their posts.
The agency emphasized that all activities were carried out in strict accordance with the legislation of Kyrgyzstan and procedural norms. The leadership of the GKNB was timely informed about the progress of the checks, which resulted in important personnel decisions. The unlawful actions of the employees led to their dismissal from the national security agencies, and materials on the identified facts have been sent for final legal assessment.
The GKNB denied rumors of a "confrontation between various power structures," stating that such claims only undermine trust in the authorities.
The agency also noted: "Artificial attempts to create an image of conflict between agencies are destructive and aimed at destabilizing the socio-political situation. We urge citizens, journalists, and public activists to rely only on official sources and to remain calm."
It all began on February 10, when Sadyr Japarov signed a decree relieving Kamchybek Tashiev of his duties as Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the GKNB. Following this, significant personnel changes occurred within the GKNB.
Structural changes were also made. In particular, the Border Service was removed from the GKNB.
Additionally, a State Guard Service was established under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic based on the 9th service of the GKNB. It is expected that after the appointment of a new head of the agency, the special services will undergo serious reforms and return to their core functions.
