Felix Kulov on the situation around Tashiev and early elections

Former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Felix Kulov expressed his views on the conspiracy, the influence of law enforcement agencies, and possible presidential ambitions in an interview with Semetey Amanbekov on the "Exclusive.kg" channel.

In recent days, the situation regarding the possible resignation of Kamchybek Tashiev, who holds the position of head of the State National Security Committee and Deputy Prime Minister, has been actively discussed. This discussion has become relevant against the backdrop of statements about destabilization and initiatives for early elections, as well as an appeal from a group of 75 signatories.

Felix Kulov, a former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan and one of the country's most respected politicians, shared his opinion on the ongoing situation in an interview with journalist Semetey Amanbekov on the YouTube channel "Exclusive.kg".

Kulov noted that such initiatives do not arise out of nowhere. He believes that the discussion of early elections may be a consequence of the internal political tension that has arisen after the president's statements at the Kurultai, where he mentioned excesses by some representatives of the law enforcement agencies.

In Kulov's opinion, the issue of early elections could be used as a tool to exert pressure on certain influential groups. He also emphasized that from a legal standpoint, there are no grounds for extraordinary elections, as current legislation clearly regulates the timing of their conduct.

When the topic of Tashiev's possible presidential ambitions came up, Kulov pointed out that formally any citizen has the right to participate in elections. However, given the current political situation and the high support for the sitting president, participation in the elections would require significant resources and a careful political strategy.

Kulov also expressed the view that discussions about elections could distract attention from other important processes and internal contradictions, creating tension within the political elite. He warned that holding early elections could lead to risks of instability, which has happened several times in Kyrgyzstan's political practice.

The interview also discusses issues related to the role of law enforcement agencies, the responsibility of their employees, and the logic of decision-making at the highest levels. Kulov noted that definitive conclusions could only be made after the investigative actions are completed.
