“Despite my hopes for a peaceful development, the situation in the country has changed over the past two weeks,” he said.According to Erkebayev, the cause of the tension was disputes over the terms of office of President Sadyr Japarov and the possibility of early elections. These disagreements led to serious consequences, including an appeal from 75 prominent individuals, their interrogations, the detention of some, the release of Kamchybek Tashiev and his deputies in the GKNB, as well as the resignation of Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, the Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh.
“As a conscientious citizen of Kyrgyzstan, I am sincerely concerned about the political situation in the country and support the justified appeal of the president to the Constitutional Court. I hope that the court will make a legally sound decision that will stop the disputes and allow the country to continue its peaceful development ahead of the upcoming elections,” he added.
Erkebayev emphasized that every citizen must adhere to the Constitution and laws, promote national unity and the development of the country, rather than incite conflicts.
“This is especially important in a year when Kyrgyzstan is hosting significant international events such as the SCO summit, the World Nomad Games, and the 'Issyk-Kul' forum, which attracts the attention of the whole world,” he concluded.
