"President Sadyr Japarov has given the necessary instructions. Kamchybek Tashiev was previously on the list of protected individuals, and measures for his protection will continue in accordance with established procedures," the head of the service added.
It is worth noting that on February 10, President Sadyr Japarov signed a decree stating that Kamchybek Tashiev is relieved of his duties as Deputy Prime Minister and head of the GKNB. He explained his decision by the desire to "avoid a split in society." Tashiev himself reported that he learned of his dismissal while in Germany for a scheduled examination following heart surgery.
After the resignation of the head of the special services, a reorganization of the security bloc took place. The deputies of the head of the GKNB were relieved of their positions, the Border Service was removed from the structure of the state committee, and a new State Guard Service was created based on the Ninth Service, which now reports directly to the president.
On February 11, Syrgak Berdikozhoev was appointed as the head of the State Guard Service under the President.
