In Kyrgyzstan, a new initiative has been developed to create "cattle camps" aimed at reducing the load on pastures located near populated areas. This was reported by Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, during a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.

According to Torobaev's statement, a ban has been established on grazing livestock on pastures near settlements from April 15 to September 15. For those farmers who do not intend to move their cattle to remote pastures, special camps will be organized right in the villages. This will allow livestock owners to drop off their animals in the morning and pick them up in the evening, simplifying the process of handling the animals. Currently, the government is working on funding issues for this initiative.

According to the minister, the total area of pastures in Kyrgyzstan is 9 million hectares, of which only 5 million hectares are considered effective. The republic has about 2 million head of cattle and 6 million head of small livestock.
