According to the information from the agency, in order to legally drill a well, it is necessary to:
- obtain a license and sign a licensing agreement with the Kyrgyz Geological Service;
- develop a project and undergo an environmental assessment.
After completing the drilling and putting the well into operation, it will be necessary to install a water meter and pay royalties for the actual water used.
The royalty rates are determined as follows:
- 15 tyiyns for each cubic meter of drinking water;
- 10 tyiyns for each cubic meter of technical water.
It is worth noting that for private households, the use of technical water from wells up to 30 meters deep is allowed without the need for any documentation. However, for commercial entities such as baths, cafes, car washes, and similar establishments, compliance with all established requirements is mandatory.
The Ministry also reminded that non-compliance with water legislation is subject to penalties: for individuals, from 1,000 to 20,000 soms, and for legal entities, from 13,000 to 65,000 soms.
