What is needed for the legal drilling of a well for drinking or technical water in the Kyrgyz Republic

When using groundwater for drinking and technical purposes, it is important to strictly adhere to the norms and requirements of the water legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic. This is reminded by the State Service for the Control of Land Use and Water Resources under the Ministry of Water Management and Agriculture.

What needs to be done:

obtain a license and a licensing agreement from the State Geological Service of the KR;
develop a project and undergo an environmental expertise;
after completing the drilling of the well and putting it into operation, keep track of the volume of extracted water using water measuring devices and pay a royalty tax for the extracted water.

The royalty rates are as follows:

15 tyiyns for drinking water;
10 tyiyns for technical water.

Failure to comply with the norms and requirements of water legislation may result in administrative fines:

for individuals - from 1,000 to 20,000 soms;
for legal entities - from 13,000 to 65,000 soms.

In addition, additional penalties may be imposed for damages caused.
