The presented options do not meet the requirements of a full-fledged anthem

Today, a meeting of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Local Self-Government, and Regulations took place in the Jogorku Kenesh, where the draft of the new text and music of the National Anthem of the Kyrgyz Republic was discussed.

Members of the commission, appointed to select the best project for the new version of the anthem, led by the Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy Mirbek Mambetaliev, were present at the meeting.

Kurmanqul Zulushiev, the committee chairman, reported that three versions of the anthem's text and music had been submitted to parliament.

Minister Mambetaliev spoke about the commission's work process, noting that not every composer is capable of writing an anthem. Commission members Chynara Umetalieva and Syrtbai Musaev added that they spent a year in the selection process and ultimately highlighted three options.

Zulushiev also emphasized that the proposed options do not surpass the quality of the current anthem, both in terms of text and content as well as musical composition, and therefore cannot be considered a full-fledged solution.

Deputy Nurlanbek Azygaliev, emphasizing that the anthem should inspire citizens and reflect common values, suggested extending the competition deadline to allow for the submission of higher-quality works that would fully correspond to the meaning of the anthem.

As a result of the discussion, the committee recommended rejecting all three versions of the anthem presented for consideration by the Jogorku Kenesh.
