Syrtbai Musaev, the former head of the National Commission on the State Language and a member of the group working on the development of a new version of the text and music of the national anthem, shared his thoughts on the anthem.
The Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, responsible for constitutional legislation, local self-government, and regulations, reviewed three proposed versions of the anthem, but all were rejected.
Before making a decision, the committee chairman Kurmankul Zulushiev addressed a member of the commission.

Musaev noted that the anthem should stand out among other musical works, inspire, and awaken the spirit of the nation. "Listening to the anthem, people should feel a thrill," he emphasized.

He also added that he often travels and hears the anthems of other countries that evoke strong emotions in him: "Why don't we have such an anthem? The previous anthem served its purpose in its time," Musaev said.

In his opinion, considering the changes in society and the state, the anthem must correspond to modern realities. "The anthem is shaped by the melody and rhythm that we perceive even without understanding the text. Our anthem should reach the same level," he believes.

Musaev also expressed regret that most of the texts submitted for the competition were unsuitable. "I began to wonder: don't we have any akyns [poets] left? Creating an anthem requires a special gift, understanding, and a soul that knows what an anthem is," he added, noting that the third version of the text seemed promising to him, although it required changes, including the removal of the word "Azattyk."

According to Musaev, after the revisions, the authors improved the text, and it became quite worthy.
