Kyrgyzstan has initiated legal proceedings within the EAEU due to Russia's non-compliance with the agreement on labor migrants. This was announced today at a meeting of the committee on social issues of the Jogorku Kenesh by the chairman of the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund, Azamat Mukhanov, while discussing the draft law "On Health Insurance for Citizens."

Committee members asked questions about the work done to support labor migrants in Russia, particularly regarding the issuance of policies for receiving medical assistance.

According to Mukhanov, the agreement on labor migrants is in effect between five EAEU states.

“However, the Russian side is currently violating Articles 96-97 of this agreement by refusing to provide mandatory health insurance to the family members of labor migrants. Kyrgyzstan has filed a lawsuit in the EAEU court, which is currently under consideration, and a decision is expected in two weeks. This issue was also raised during the visit to Kyrgyzstan by the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Alexey Overchuk,” he added.
