The Minister of Water Resources and Agriculture met with the Permanent Representative of the IMF in Kyrgyzstan

On January 19, Bakyt Torobayev held a meeting with Farid Talyshly, the permanent representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet.

During the discussion, the focus was on cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the IMF.

According to information received from the Cabinet, international rating agencies highly appreciated the large-scale structural reforms implemented in the country over the past few years. These changes are aimed at stabilizing business activity, supporting key sectors, modernizing infrastructure, and improving the investment climate.

For more than three decades, the IMF has implemented 12 programs in Kyrgyzstan that have significantly contributed to economic development, poverty reduction, and the promotion of sustainable and inclusive growth.

It is also reported that on average over the past three years, the country's economy has grown by 9%. High economic activity has been made possible by effective government measures aimed at modernizing the economy, improving the investment climate and competitive environment, as well as implementing reforms in the public administration system.
