Bakyt Torobaev met with the IMF representative in Kyrgyzstan, Farid Talyshly

Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Bakyt Torobayev held a meeting with Farid Talyshly, the permanent representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the country. This information was announced by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the discussion, the participants focused on issues of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the IMF. They emphasized the importance of the Fund's role in implementing structural reforms and developing the country's economy, as well as discussing opportunities for further interaction.

The participants noted that the large-scale reforms carried out in recent years have received positive assessments from international rating agencies. These changes are aimed at stabilizing business activity, supporting key sectors, modernizing infrastructure, and improving conditions for investment.

Since its arrival in Kyrgyzstan over 30 years ago, the IMF has implemented 12 programs that have significantly contributed to economic development, poverty reduction, and ensuring sustainable, inclusive growth.

It is important to note that, on average, over the past three years, the economy of Kyrgyzstan has demonstrated growth at the level of 9.0%. This is associated with effective government measures to modernize the economy, improve the investment climate and competitive environment, as well as with the implementation of reforms in state governance.
