Maria Corina Machado gave her Nobel Peace Prize medal to Donald Trump
Machado noted that in her conversation with Trump, she recalled how two centuries ago General Lafayette presented a medal with a portrait of President George Washington to Simón Bolívar. She emphasized that since then, Bolívar never parted with that medal. "Two hundred years later, the people of Bolívar are presenting the Nobel Prize medal to the President of the United States, the successor of Washington, in recognition of his support for our freedom," she added.
According to Machado, Trump shows complete dedication to the freedom of Venezuelan political prisoners and understands that Venezuela can become an important partner for the United States.
It is important to note that according to the rules of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, the medal cannot be returned or transferred to others.
