Askhat Alagozov, the press secretary of the President of Kyrgyzstan, commented on the recent statements made by Russian journalist Vladimir Solovyov.

Alagozov reported that in recent days, representatives of various media outlets have been asking him whether there will be an official response from the authorities regarding Solovyov's words.

“These statements can be considered one of the empty and absurd remarks that are made during the lengthy broadcasts of this Russian TV host on various topics,” he noted.

Regarding the reaction to Solovyov's statements, the press secretary emphasized that since he is a journalist, such comments can only be made by the journalistic community or other interested parties. “If such words were spoken by a deputy or a minister, then the response would be provided by our elected representatives or government members,” Alagozov added.

According to him, he has heard about a proposal from one of the deputies to declare Solovyov a persona non grata.

“There is an established procedure for this. We will see how this issue will be discussed. It is important to note that bilateral and multilateral relations between our country and Russia, as well as with the Central Asian states in general, are built at a high level. This is confirmed by mutual visits and cooperation within organizations such as the CIS, EAEU, and SCO,” the press secretary said.

He also added that any such assumptions have no basis. However, considering that Solovyov works for state television, his provocative statements, which can create tension, may lead to misunderstandings among the citizens of friendly countries and, in some cases, require serious measures. “We hope that his management will take appropriate actions,” Alagozov noted.

It is worth recalling that Vladimir Solovyov's statements have caused public resonance. In one of his recent broadcasts, he suggested that Russia, similar to the U.S. in Venezuela, could ignore international law and consider intervening in the internal affairs of Armenia and the Central Asian republics to prevent them from leaving the Russian "sphere of influence."

The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that such statements are incompatible with the friendly relations between Moscow and Yerevan.

Deputy Dastan Bekeshev proposed to recognize Solovyov as a persona non grata.
