Marat Imankulov: Kyrgyzstan Could Not Afford to Upgrade Its Armament Before
The former Secretary of State claims that the country has gained new strength
In the past, Kyrgyzstan faced difficulties in updating its military arsenal, but today the situation has changed. This was stated by former Secretary of State Marat Imankulov in an interview on "Birinchi Radio".
He emphasized that in recent years the republic has demonstrated significant and positive changes. This pertains to issues such as "Kumtor", the fight against corruption, the situation on the border with Tajikistan, and the state of the armed forces.
“Achieving these results required serious efforts and political will. And we see the fruits of our labor. For example, the army has updated its weapons and heavy equipment. New airplanes have been acquired, which now play an important role in ensuring the country's security. Previously, due to low budget revenues and a high level of corruption, such expenses were unthinkable. Now the situation has radically changed. We have updated the equipment, increased pensions for security personnel, and improved the logistical support of all law enforcement agencies,” added Imankulov.
