According to Sulaymanova, a group of educators sent an official appeal to the Minister of Education, Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva, proposing to align the coefficients for history teachers with the level established for primary school teachers and those teaching natural sciences.
In their appeal, the teachers emphasized the importance of the subject "History" in the educational process. They noted that education in primary school lays the foundation of knowledge, while history lessons contribute to the development of national self-awareness and strengthen students' civic positions.
The educators also highlighted that preparing and conducting classes requires a significant amount of analytical work, including processing archival data and analyzing current geopolitical events.
The authors of the appeal expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that in the current wage system, coefficients for humanitarian subjects are lower than for a number of other disciplines. They consider this unfair and called for the creation of equal pay conditions for history teachers, similar to those for primary school teachers and natural science subjects.
The Ministry of Education noted that negotiations are ongoing with the Ministry of Finance regarding the equalization of salary coefficients for history and primary school teachers.
Additionally, the ministry reminded about the plans announced by the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, at the IV People's Kurultai, according to which, starting from April 1, 2026, the salaries of educational institution employees will be increased by 100%.
