Ministry of Natural Resources: A National Climate Change Adaptation Plan Developed
Raimkulova noted that on March 27, Presidential Decree No. 105 was signed, which approved the Concept of Environmental Security. Additionally, the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution dated July 3 under number 397 aims to achieve carbon neutrality. A draft National Climate Change Adaptation Plan has also been developed, and on August 12, in accordance with Cabinet Resolution No. 487, a Coordinating Council for Ecology, Climate, and Green Economy was established.
At the council meeting on September 19, the third nationally determined contribution and the national inventory document were discussed and approved, which were sent to the secretariat of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Deputy Minister reported.
Asel Raimkulova also emphasized that Kyrgyzstan actively participates in 14 international environmental conventions and has signed 8 agreements with various countries, including Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Korea, Japan, China, and the United Kingdom.
Currently, 7 international environmental projects are being implemented in the country aimed at improving air quality, preserving biodiversity, and ensuring radiation safety, she added.
