In the Ministry of Natural Resources of Kyrgyzstan, the results of 2025 were summarized

The meeting at the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic was held to analyze the results of 2025.

During the meeting, the results of the year's work were summarized, and key priorities for 2026 were outlined.
Achievements in the Mining Industry

Over the past five years, significant reforms have been implemented in the field of subsoil use, and state control has been strengthened. During the period of 2024–2025, eight major projects were launched, and in 2025, 105 licenses were issued for state enterprises. As a result of non-compliance with licensing conditions, 320 licenses were revoked. Currently, there are 2014 active licenses.

In total, over the past five years, the industry has contributed more than 217.9 billion soms to the budget, which corresponds to an increase of 3.5 times. In 2025, revenues reached a record 65.4 billion soms. This year, 40 auctions were held, bringing in 105.6 million soms to the budget, and the total amount of gold extracted was 141 tons.
Kumtor as a Key Asset

Since 2021, the Kumtor deposit has been under state control. Over the past five years, 100.6 billion soms have been contributed to the budget in the form of taxes and mandatory payments. The company's net profit in 2025 amounted to 706 million US dollars, and the volume of gold production reached 70 tons, which also led to an increase in reserves.
Environmental Initiatives and Climate

To improve air quality, an interdepartmental commission was established, which introduced restrictions on the use of low-quality coal in Bishkek and the Chui region.

With the support of the World Bank, a project worth 50 million US dollars is being implemented, as well as the initiative "Improving Air Quality in the Kyrgyz Republic" for 10 million US dollars with support from KOICA.

In 2025, concepts for environmental safety and carbon neutrality were approved, and international cooperation was expanded. More than 1 billion US dollars in investments have been attracted to the mining industry.
Control and Biodiversity

In 2025, 5,749 violations were recorded, with damage compensation amounting to 143.2 million soms. A new state enterprise "Ekooperator" was established, which collected 74 million soms in recycling fees.

As part of the "Zhasyl Muras" program, 8.2 million seedlings were planted, and the ecological corridor "Ak Ilbirs" was formed. The population of snow leopards in the country exceeded 500 individuals.
Issyk-Kul and Protected Natural Areas

In Issyk-Kul, 99 raids were conducted, resulting in the elimination of illegal fishing nets. Restrictions on the use of plastic products were also introduced.

Protected natural areas attracted 271 thousand tourists, generating 37.7 million soms in revenue.
Strengthening the Material and Technical Base

To improve the material and technical base of the ministry, the construction of new administrative buildings has begun, as well as the acquisition of 38 service vehicles, modern laboratory equipment, drones, and camera traps.
Plans for 2026

As a result of the collegium, tasks were set to expand geological exploration, strengthen environmental control, deepen digitalization, and implement climate policy. The ministry will continue its efforts for the rational use of natural resources, ensuring environmental safety, and sustainable development in 2026.
