On March 30, the court's press service reported that by the verdict of the Issyk-Kul District Court dated July 3, 2025, Mambetaliev, known by the initials M.E.Sh., was found guilty of crimes related to his official duties under Articles 41 part 2 and 337 part 2 of the Criminal Code, which pertain to abuse of office. However, due to the expiration of the statute of limitations, he was released from punishment on this count.
Nevertheless, he was charged under paragraph 3 of part 3 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code for the legalization of criminal proceeds in a large amount. For this, he was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment with confiscation of property, and he was also prohibited from holding certain positions for a period of up to three years.
Additionally, the court found him guilty under part 2 of Article 261 for creating or participating in an organized group, which resulted in an additional five years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
According to Article 77 of the Criminal Code, all imposed sentences were combined, and the final punishment amounted to nine years of imprisonment with confiscation of property and a ban on holding certain positions for up to three years. Mambetaliev will serve his sentence in a high-security correctional colony.
The start of the sentence is counted from August 10, 2024. The measure of restraint in the form of detention for M.E.Sh. also remained unchanged.
In the decision dated December 2, 2025, the Judicial Panel upheld the verdict of the Issyk-Kul District Court dated July 3, 2025, concerning M.E.Sh.
