The police detained Daniil Azhiev on March 6, 2026, at around 12:20 PM on the bypass road in Tokmok, as reported by the Main Internal Affairs Department of the Chui region, as part of operational-search activities.
In connection with this incident, the Internal Affairs Department of the city of Tokmok has initiated a criminal case under Article 283 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, which concerns the illegal production of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances without the intent to sell them.
Azhiev is currently in a temporary detention facility.
Necessary forensic examinations and investigative actions are being conducted to clarify all the details of this case.
The investigation is ongoing.
It should be noted that Daniil Azhiev has previously attracted the attention of law enforcement agencies. In June 2023, he was detained on suspicion of organizing a network of webcam studios. At that time, while attempting to fly to the United Arab Emirates via Uzbekistan, he was detained in that country and subsequently handed over to Kyrgyz authorities.
During the investigation, the court imposed a seizure on his property, including apartments, houses, and cars, with a total value of about 262 million soms, which were later transferred to state revenue.
The court found Azhiev guilty and sentenced him to nine years in prison. On February 18 of this year, news of his pardon by presidential decree became known.
