It is specified that Azhiev himself did not rent the helicopter. An anonymous renter asked the pilot to land in the village of Baytik to pick up the released individual. The Ministry of Emergency Situations did not disclose details about the route, time, or cost of the rental.
According to some sources, at that moment, Azhiev was accompanied by Nurlan Sarchayev, the deputy head of the Penitentiary Service. However, there have been no official comments from the Penitentiary Service yet.
It is important to note that Daniel Azhiev was pardoned by the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov. Earlier, the head of the State National Security Committee, Kamchybek Tashiev, returned Azhiev's apartment to his wife and gifted her a new car, as they had lost everything.
Recall that Azhiev was arrested in June 2023 on suspicion of organizing web cam studios. He attempted to leave the country through Uzbekistan but was detained. The State National Security Committee also received a complaint from E.A. regarding extortion of money from him. According to him, he worked as an operator of web cam studios and was subjected to psychological pressure from the administrator, who threatened him with violence and demanded $2,000.
Later, a court in Bishkek imposed a freeze on Azhiev's assets, including apartments, houses, and cars, with a total value of 262 million soms. As a result, the court sentenced him to 9 years of imprisonment.
