The incident occurred on January 30, when a resident of the capital reported to the police about the theft of his iPhone 17 Pro Max, which was stolen in the area of the intersection of Chuy Avenue and Shopokov Street. The value of the stolen device is 150,000 soms.
As a result of the investigation, law enforcement officers detained 23-year-old K.B., who had previously had legal troubles and is registered with the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a pickpocket and member of an organized crime group.
A criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 205 ("Theft") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The detainee has been placed in a temporary detention facility.
It was revealed that this individual was wanted and is connected to four other similar crimes in public places in the city. During the interrogation, he voluntarily handed over four mobile phones to the police, which were also obtained through criminal means.
