A resident of the capital, known as A.A., filed a report with the Internal Affairs Department of the Sverdlovsk District of Bishkek regarding a theft. According to her, on January 30, 2026, at around 6:00 PM, at the corner of Chuy Avenue and Shopokov Street, her mobile phone, an "iPhone 17 Pro Max," was stolen by unknown individuals.
Based on this report, a criminal case was initiated under Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning theft.
Employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Bishkek City Police managed to identify and detain a suspect — a man named A.B., who was found in the Talas region.
The investigation established that the detainee has previous convictions and is registered with the city police as a person noted for committing pickpocketing. He was taken to the investigative department of the Sverdlovsk District Police and placed in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Police. Currently, his involvement in other similar crimes has also been confirmed.

The Bishkek City Police urges all residents and guests of the capital to remain vigilant in crowded places, to keep an eye on their belongings, and not to leave valuable items unattended. In case of discovering pickpocketing or other unlawful behavior, please report immediately to the internal affairs authorities at number 102.
