A junior police lieutenant has been arrested
According to the GKNB, the arrest took place as part of a joint operation conducted by the GKNB and the SVR of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The incident occurred when district police officers brought a man named "L.T.D." to GOM No. 2, who was accused of petty hooliganism. According to law enforcement, the detainees beat the citizen without any reason, demonstrating their power and strength.
As a result of the beating, "L.T.D." required urgent medical assistance and was taken to the National Hospital, where he received inpatient treatment. An expert examination recorded a closed traumatic brain injury, a concussion, as well as back injuries with fractures of two vertebrae and bruises to the soft tissues of the face and lower back.
On February 21, 2026, junior police lieutenant "R. u. M." was detained and placed in the temporary detention facility of the GKNB.
