The State Committee for National Security (GKNB), together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Internal Security Service, is conducting an investigation regarding the abuse of power and the use of physical force by employees of the Lenin District Internal Affairs Department in Bishkek.
According to information provided by the State Committee for National Security, it was established that the police officers who brought citizen L.T.D., accused of petty hooliganism, to the Department of Internal Affairs No. 2, beat him without just cause, intending to demonstrate their power.
As a result of the injuries sustained, the detainee was urgently hospitalized in the National Hospital by an ambulance team, where he was prescribed inpatient treatment.
An expert conclusion indicates that the victim has a closed traumatic brain injury with a concussion, as well as a closed spinal injury with fractures of two vertebrae and contusions of the soft tissues of the face and lower back.
As a result of the incident, junior police lieutenant R. u M. was detained and placed in the temporary detention facility of the GKNB.
