As a result of counterintelligence activities conducted by the State National Security Committee (GKNB), information was obtained about the illegal activities of a citizen of Kyrgyzstan named Ch.R.Z., who posed as an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the agency, this individual, using false connections with the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, deceitfully obtained funds from citizen Zh.A.Z. in the amount of 500 US dollars. A criminal case was opened against him at the Internal Affairs Department of the Sverdlovsk District of Bishkek.
The detained individual threatened Zh.A.Z., claiming that the investigation of the Internal Affairs Department of the Sverdlovsk District was soon going to take measures that could lead to his arrest. He also stated that he could influence the course of the investigation and was ready to resolve the issue for an additional amount of 2,000 US dollars.
On February 18, 2026, within the framework of the initiated case under Article 343 (extortion of a bribe) of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan, Ch.R.Z. was detained in Bishkek while receiving 45,000 soms. After the detention, he was taken to the GSU GKNB and placed in a temporary detention facility.
