The GKNB detained a suspect in extortion who posed as a police officer
During counterintelligence activities, law enforcement agencies received information about the illegal activities of a citizen named Ch.R.Z., who posed as an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
According to the investigation, the accused, using his fictitious connections with the leadership of the MIA, managed to gain the trust of a person who is a subject of a criminal case being investigated by the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Sverdlovsk District. As a result of the deception, he extorted 500 dollars from him. Moreover, he stated that the person could soon be arrested, and only he could influence the course of the case, demanding an additional 2000 dollars for his "services."
This episode was recorded under Article 343 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic ("Extortion of a bribe"). On February 18 in Bishkek, Ch.R.Z. was detained while receiving 45,000 soms and placed in a temporary detention facility.
Currently, an investigation is underway to identify possible accomplices.
